Auto populate fields

Im building a database for inventory and so far have the following tables
(below).

My issue is that I want to track hardware specs in the PCs (CPU, memory,
etc) but don't want to have to populate those fields manually everytime. Is
there a way to have those fields popluated when a model number is selected?
I'd still like them to be able to be changed, but I'd like the default
configuration for that model to be entered.

I found this earlier, this would create the records in the subtable.
You might be able to then assign default parms to these upon creation.
