Auto post invitations to calendar as tentative - too slow!

Outlook 2000 SR1, when messages arrive in the Inbox the 'sniffer' posts them
to the calendar as tentative. This is not happening in a timely fashion for
a group of users. It works fine for others.

Could that be possibly the same issue as was posted on 9/20/2004 by R.
Stroessenreuther ("scheduled meetings not displayed in OL") ?
What is the "sniffer" ? Is it residing inside the exchange server, or is it
a configurable option in the client ?
