Auto posting a file date

The challenge is on my password protected webpages so this isn't a security
issue.

On the site an updated member directory addendum pdf file is available so
the members can keep their directories up to date.

I would like to post on the Announcement page it is available with the file
date shown. I'd like the file date to be shown automatically; that is when
I upload the new pdf file, the announcement page will automatically be
updated with the new date taken from the file. Can this be done on the
Publisher 2000 created website? Or am I stuck updating the Announcement
page each time I upload a new pdf file?

Don, I was hoping someone would come through with a magic answer.

I don't know how you would automagically do this...sorry. I too have one
report I update each month and I reference that update along with the date
on my home page and another page. The fastest way I have found to update
those pages is to make the change in Publisher, Save as a Web page, and then
just upload the .html page...not the whole site and graphics. As I am only
changing text, by just uploading the .html file for the page that I want to
change, it is a small and quick upload. You probably already do that, but
thought I would mention it...

Don,

How good are you at doing in php? If you are decent, and I'm not, what
you would do is to create a DB and have the php script cull the DB and
report the latest addition - something like a forum does when it
displays new messages.
