auto re-publish

If I save/publish an Excel document using the "save as webpage" and select
the "AutoRepublish every time this workbook is saved", how does this act or
react if that webpage is:

1.) Saved on a server on it's own.
2.) Has been imported into another HTML document (I mean, can it link that
way?)
3.) Set up as a table of sorts with or without interactivity

I hope my question in understood. To sum up, how reliable and easily does
this function work? And do the 2 documents need to be under the same root
folder and/or server or something?
