Auto-Recovery - no disc space

Help! I lost a file because I couldn't save it because of a warning that
would come up when Word was trying to do an "auto-save". The message said
that I didn't have enough disc space and to close other applications. I did
and still no saving. I had no choice but to restart.

The document is gone. Since the auto-recovery wasn't working, is there
anyplace where I might find this document?

If it has never been saved and assigned a filename, no, it has gone. The
problem is often caused by the temp folder being full of abandoned temp
files or something is corrupting in the document (tables or equations are
common).

If you need more help, please let us know

Word version?
Windows version?
Are they both fully patched?
What have you been doing when the error occurs?

It had a file name: 6mo analysis report - 11-08, but it had reverted back to
the original template that I was using without all the new data.

The document was full of graphs that I had copy and pasted from excel, so
maybe that was the problem. Is there anything I can do in the future to
avoid this?

Thanks,
Nancy

Well I can only guess that the document was corrupt, so it could not be
saved. Let us know if this happens again.

Meanwhile, I suggest that you check you temp folder and make sure that when
all applications are closed, the folder is empty. If not, delete all the
files that you find abandoned in TEMP.
