Auto Recovery Problem with MS Office

I am having problems with Auto Recovery in Word and Excel.

After the time is up (mine is set for 20 minutes) for
Auto Recovery, it tells me it was unable to automatically
save the file becasue it cannot locate the directory
for 'MS Office Auto Recovery Files'.

After the error message,I tried going to the options tab
to see if there is a wrong location set somewhere.

I am unable to select any of the tabs under options in
Word or Excel, I get an error message saying,

Cannot access directory 'MS Office Auto Recovery Files'.

If I close the program and reopen it (resetting the auto
recovery timer), I am able to select any of the options
tabs. Once I get the error about not being able to do
auto recovery, I can't select the options tabs again.

I finally uninstalled MS office and reinstalled it. I
thought it was fine but it happened again today.

Any suggestions?
