Auto Save XL files are where?

I have XL for Mac X set to auto-save every 2 minutes but upon the
frequent crash of this app, I can't find the "auto saved" copies
anywhere. My Auto-saved word docs are in my User / Microsoft / etc
folder but no XL files are to be found and of course, latest data is
lost. Anywhere else I should be looking?
OS 10.2.8 / latest office updates.
Thanks.

XL v.X's autorecover documents are placed in the MUD folder (which is
usually at

~:Documents:Microsoft User Data

where ~ is your home directory). The filename will start with "~ar" and
will continue with a series of numbers and letters.

The file is invisible - you can find it using the Finder's Find command
and selecting "invisible" from the Visiblity dropdown option.

Hi

I think the autosave files are hidden files, so you normally would not see
them. If Excel crashes, the next time you open Excel it should search for
the files (usually saved in a hidden temporary directory) and automatically
display them with the word "recovered" appended to the name.
