auto shape and align

I create retangular shapes in the drawing mode, they are usually the same size
1.5x1.5" the number can vary from 5 to twenty and have to be spaced equally
from edge to edge. My question is of two parts:

1. is there a way to create a box and automatically create a specific number
of them without havng to copy and paste them individually?

2. Is there a way to equally space the boxes from edge to edge automatically
with a predetermined distance?

Allow me to give half an answer. I hope this doesn't repel anyone to give a
full answer with worked out formulas.

Visio is great in doing the sort of things you ask. But it does require a
bit of specialised knowledge in working with the shapesheet.

In the mean time maybe following methods can help :
- the stamp tool
- menu Shape, Distribute Shapes, Create Guides
- Tools, Add ons, Visio Extras, Array

If you are afraid of making a master shape, there is a rectangle, called a
box in the Blocks stencil.
