is there an auto shapes option and a themes option in works eight

I seriously doubt it, but I can't say for sure as I don't use it & the
product pages on the MS site don't specifically state one way or the other.
You may want to check the Works newsgroup for more accurate info.

Works 2006 Suite, however, includes Word 2002 which does offer those
features.

Hi Kar,

It depends on what you classify as a 'theme'.
MS Works word processor has had a 'theming' dialog similar to the 'new' features in Office 2007 for a couple of versions :)

The Format Gallery comes with 16 color sets and 16 Font sets. It doesn't show your actual text in preview but it does show sample
text previews as you slide through the various font and color scheme choices.

The works Word processor does include WordArt, but not Autoshapes. If you open a Word document with autoshapes they may not be in
the document when viewed in Works.

You may want to use the link below to the MS Works news/discussion group for additional information
