Auto shapes dissapearing when I scroll

Hi, and thanks in advance to anyone who can help me as it is becoming very
frustrating.

I am using Windows XP and Office.

When I insert an Auto Shape into a Word document, and then scroll up or down
the page, that part of the auto shape that scrolls off the screen dissapears
from the word doc when I scroll back the other way. It is still there,
because if I go clicking or moving the mouse around the screen I can find it
again and if I then resize it, it will appear. It will then dissapear when I
scroll the page again.

It prints ok. But when you are trying to be creative it is very frustrating
as the shapes do not stay. If I insert a picture, that is ok, it stays.

Try reducing the hardware acceleration setting in Start | Control
Panel | Display | Settings | Advanced | Troubleshooting. If this
fixes the problem, then you might want to check the website of
the manufacturer of your video card/graphics adapter to see if
there is an updated driver available.
