auto suggestions from entourage address book

I'd like to turn off the preference that tries to guess words,
especially names, while I'm typing.

I can't seem to find it under preferences. Any ideas?

Thanks.

I think it gets the names from an old Entourage address book?

I was totally confused about what you wanted--I thought you wanted to
stop the autofill in composing an entourage message. But you are
complaining about those little yellow pop-ups, right? Those are called
AutoCompletes and are part of AutoText.

You want Tools | AutoCorrect, click on AutoText. Unchecking the
AutoComplete box will eliminate all little yellow popups that guess
things while you type. I know in Word 2004, you have the option of just
checking "exclude contacts" to prevent the guesses at address books
names but still keep the more useful ones (though I never find them
useful). If you have a lot of custom AutoTexts set up, they are helpful,
but otherwise I think skippable.

Thanks Daiya - sorry for the confusion - didn't know how else to
explain it.

I went to autotext and managed to delete the address book entries -
there were a lot of them - any many, many duplicates.

In any case, it worked - and thank you again for the advice.
