Word 2K4 on Mac to Word 2K on PC need to share auto-texts. Where does this
file live on the Mac and where does it go on the PC. No longer have a
working PC to look for myself and time is of the essence.

Eeeww.... They are in the Normal.dot template on the PC, and in the Normal
template on the Mac.

Don't try to share the template: Mac Word won't use it if it has a .dot
extension (it's a bug!) and PC Word won't open it unless it has.

Instead, copy the file to the other machine, then use Organizer (note
American spelling) to copy the AutoText entries from one to the other.

The Organizer is documented in the Help, but I usually get to it from
Tools>Macros>Organizer... It's easier :)

Cheers

I may have modified my menus and this comment may therefore be superfluous,
but on my Word 2004 it's not accessible via Tools=>Macros. I usually go via
Format menu => Style => Organizer is at bottom left => click "Toolbars"
button among the choices at the top.

Cheers,

Down a level...

Tools>Macros>Macros...

Format>Style is the other convenient way in, but it doesn't work in Word
2007 :)

.... Or Tools> Templates & Add-ins> Organizer button. Frankly, I'm astounded
that you guys haven't assigned a keystroke to the Organizer command:)

Yeah, well, having one is the reason why I had to fumble to find one of the
"ways in" via a menu ...

Please consider yourself de-astounded... ;-)

Why would I do that, when I can drag it to a toolbar? :)

Keystrokes are for things I use several times an hour. Organiser is not one
of those :)
