Auto-text not working in some documents

I use an arrow (==>) quite often in my documents. Most of
the time, "==>" gets converted into a true arrow.
However, in some documents that I work with, the "==>"
does not get converted. Why does the conversion NOT
happen in some documents, and what can I do to correct the
situation? Thanks for any help anyone can give me on this.

Hi Greg,

You mean AutoCorrect, don't you? Or do you really mean
AutoText?

Can you think of any common denominator for the situations
where it works vs. does not? For instance, have you started
Word as your Outlook email editor when it doesn't work?

If you are referring to the autocorrect rather than
autotext, ensure that the "automatically use suggestions
from speller checker is turned on" which you will find if
you go to: insert autotext | autotext | under the
autocorrect tab

AutoCorrect also fails to function if the text is set to No Proofing
(terminology varies by version). Check the Language setting of the Style in
use. Sometimes newly created styles are set to No Proofing by default.
