Auto-update file path field

Hello all:

I have a very useful form template that I use to create these great reports.
I'm only having one problem with the document; at the bottom, I have a file
path field. This field does not update automatically after I save and will
stay with the generic name (i.e. Document1, Document2, etc.) until I
right-click on it and select Update Field. Any ideas on how I can ensure
that this is done automatically?

Automatically? No! You could use an update macro and add it to a toolbar
button - you'll find instructions at

Mr. Mayor,

Thanks for your prompt response! I don't have any problems updating this
manually, however, the template is used by technology-challenged colleagues
of mine and I don't think a macro button is going to be simple enough.
I appreciate the information!

Could I use some kind of AutoSave() subroutine to accomplish this?
As you can tell, I'm looking for the solution that requires as little
user-interaction as possible. LOL

Nothing I have tried works as consistently and reliably as having a large
toolbar button reading UPDATE THE FIELDS!.
You could intercept the filesave routine or use autoclose macros but they
don't work consistently enough for me.
