Auto Update question

I'm new here so bear with me:

The last couple of weeks the microsoft autoupdate for office appears
on my mac.
The update is roughly 57meg. I click install and is takes a few
minutes. After that the download progress box goes away, but then the
next day it will tell me to install the same update.
I'm not a computer wizard, or the strongest in the field......so this
is a little confusing to me.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance!

For some reason it sounds like the update isn't applying correctly - could
be a download connection problem among other possibilities... Been known to
happen but not isolated to any one particular cause.

First of all, launch Disk Utility & run Repair Disk Permissions. That in
itself _may_ resolve it. If not, go to this link & download the update from
there (based on the size you mention I'm figuring it's the 11.3.3 update
that you're having the problem with):

http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx?pid=download&location=/mac/downl
oad/Office2004/Office2004_1134.xml&secid=4&ssid=33&flgnosysreq=True

Follow the instructions on that page, then run Repair Disk Permissions
again. Perhaps that will yield a better result. If not please post back.

BTW - there is also a new 11.3.4 update to follow that, but the 11.3.3 must
be done first. Also, the 11.3.4 is only a little over 1 MB.

No problem - let us know how you make out... Especially since 11.3.4 is
"brand-spankin' new".

That worked perfectly! I ran the Disk Utility and Repair Disc
Permissions and then the Office updates installed no problem. Right
after that I ran the scan again for updates and the 11.3.4 came up,
installed and this thing is perfect again!
Thanks again for your help!!!

You're most certainly welcome - just remember to run Repair Disk Permissions
after any software installations and OS or application updates :)

Thanks for letting us know it worked for you.

Yeah, we know... Except that when they DO it, things seem to work, and when
they DON'T, sometimes things don't work. :)

That's a big myth.
