Auto update

J

Joanne Mann

I have office 2004 and Office Update which is set to auto has not alerted me
to the new update. I have tried manually to check for the update and I get
the message "no updates available." I know I can download it through the MS
web site. I just want to know why the program isn't coming up with it.
Thanks,

Joanne

It's not actually available yet, that's why. I expect it will become so
later in the day.

Installed without incident via automatic update on my 733-mhz G4 QuickSilver
(2001). So far, everything's playing nice with OS 10.3.5.

There were no instructions on installation page that came up when I clicked
the "more information" button.

To be on the safe side, I ran Repair Permissions first and temporarily
disabled my anti-virus program until installation had been completed.
During installation, I was prompted to quit out of all open Office programs.

Following installation, without any prompts, I re-started and before
launching any Office 2004 components again ran Repair Permissions.

After installation, I noticed that it had dumped in trash the "old" Word
11.0.0 and Entourage 11.0.0. Not Excel, however. I never installed
PowerPoint with Office 2004. All my other Office 2004 components now are
11.1.0.

Respectfully, Norm

The auto update application worked fine for me when I used it to check, then
download and install the Office 2004 update.
