Hi,

I have created test document that has macro showing
message when you open word. I have word 2002. It is
running fine on client or IE 5.0 but if I open word from
IE 5.5, It is not running automatically. Has anyone faced
that issue?

G'day "AD" <[email protected]>,

I think this is feature by design for security reasons.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for quick reply. I checked my test document on IE 6
SP1 and it works fine. Problem is in IE 5.5 only. We
applied all fixes and latest on both IE and Office.

G'day <[email protected]>,

a) there are umpteen ways of opening a word doc across web

b) generally speaking, it would be a breach of security to allow a
remote-loaded document to automatically start executing uncontrolled
code.

I prefer FTP rather than HTTP for most of this stuff.
