Autoarchive and how it works - Outlook 2007

Here is my question Under Tools, Options, Other Tab under Autoarchive I have
the check mark on Run AutoArchive and set it to 1 day. Under "During
Autoarchive" I have nothing set. I set under the deleted items folder its
own autoarchive setting to permanently delete anything older than 3 days.
For some reason it is not removing anything out of the deleted items folder.
I checked the modified date for a bunch of the emails and they are not being
touched by our virus protection system. Any ideas or something I am not
setting?

You will need one or both of the first two checkboxes under "During Archive"
checked to get the desired results.
