Background:
A month ago I obtained a new laptop with Win7 and Office/Outlook 2007. My
files, settings, and many things were migrated from my old WinXP with
Office/Outlook 2007 laptop to this one (identical hardware). This migration
caused down-the-wire backups to prompt for a password whenever it wanted to
backup my PST files. The fix for this was to remove the datafiles from
Outlook (Tools --> Options --> Mail Setup --> Data Files) and then re-add
them. It worked, with a downside.
Issue:
Now, each time AutoArchive runs, it presents me a report with eight entries
(there are far more folders than this) reading
"Error while archiving folder "Domains" in store "Recent". The file
C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\archive1.pst cannot be opened."
The Store as well as the archive1.pst file are both located on my laptop and
not on network shares. The file location referrenced is, as should already be
known, incorrect. The properties field of both the default setting and the
folder setting were updated to the correct path however it still attempts to
archive to it - or so the report indicates. I have also disabled
autoarchiving of the folder in question and it continues to attempt to
archive to the location not configured within Outlook.
My Question:
Is there a profile or other hidden AutoArchive configuration that over-rides
any settings I have modified?
