Autocad 2005 should be saved as ?? to import into Viso 2003

I am trying to import Autocad 2005 drawings into Visio 2003 but it will not
accept them. When I have them try to save them as an older version of
Autocad, I still cannot open the file. The error message is the same,
"cannot open file" with the message saying that it may not be a .dwg file. I
have verified that it is.

Does anyone know what version I should have them save the files as so that I
can insert them into Visio?

Thanks

I have tried saving my drawings as 2000 and I still get the message that they
are either corrupt or not .dwg files, which they are. I have even gotten rid
of any xref files and broken any blocks, but it still doesn't help. I had no
problem when I was using the older versions of Visio, but with the new 2008
version I cannot import my CAD files at all. I have also converted to CAD
2008 as I now have Vista and it would not support my old CAD or my old Visio.
Has anyone come up with a solution for this? I was interested in this post
but it says the article has expired so I cannot read it.

After reading more posts I tried to save as R14 and it seemed to work, but
really messed my the font. So, if you are having trouble with the 2002
version they tell you to use in the "help" try save as R14.
