Autocad Drawing in Word 2003

Barbara

We have word documents that have Autocad .dwg drawing in
them. Now in Word 2003 the documents won't display or
allow addtional .dwg graphics. Do I need to install
something?

This is not the same as the Jan. 6th posting. I have
already existing word documents with AutoCad drawing in
them. They displayed in Word 2000. Now after the
upgrade the graphics are missing from the Word document.
I don't have the original Autocad files and I have 100's
of these images in various Word files. Help!

Hi Barbara,

What are you seeing where the graphics used to be when you're in Print Layout view?
(Check to be sure that 'picture placeholders' is turned off in Tools=>Options=>View) Were the graphics inserted or left on the hard
drive and linked by using Insert=>Picture?

MS pulled the Autocad graphics filter after a security review (getting pretty old <g>). You can move the .FLT file from another
computer and use it to insert new DXF (R12 or earlier format) or use WMF files as an alternative for new ones.
