AutoCAD drawings not showing/printing correctly in Office 2003/XP

We have older and new AUTOCAD drawings that are currently imported into Word
97 documents. Looks to be as "floating drawings". If I open the word 97 docs
with the drawings in Word 97 or any Office 97 program..The drawings open fine
and print fine. If I open the word 97 docs in Word 2003 or Word XP, some of
the drawings do not show or print correctly. It is skewed/stretched within
the picture placeholder. Why are these docs not completely compatible from
Word 97 to Word 2003 or XP??? I have found that AutoCAD filters/converters
are installed with Office 97, but is not installed with the Office 2003
converter tool kit and can no longer be obtained. We do not upgrade from
Office 97 to Office 2003..Office 2003 completely uninstalls Office 97 so the
converters are not retained when we upgrade...Is there a seperate autoCAD
converter I can obtain or can you please provide me with the older office
2000 or xp resource kit so I can install the autocad converters?.. thx.

Have you tried copying the DXFIMP32.FLT file from Office 97 to the
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Grphflt" folder in
Office 2003?

After further troubleshooting findings are:
converter issue or not? possibly just a known issue with newer versions of
office?

In Word XP, view shows distorted as when I print some autocad drawing

In Word 2003, I can view the graphics normally when I select certain options
from the tools/options/view dialog boxes, however even if view shows graphics
correctly ..printing results same as XP /distored off placeholder. file/print
crop to: letter, 11x17 etc..does not fix.

Appears that office xp/2003 somehow distorts graphics from 97 automatically.
Only solution I found so far to fix this problem is to manually recrop
graphics (not an easy task to do with multiple archived 97 docs) by right
clicking, format picture/picture tab..crop..OR I can right click
graphic/choose edit (which auto crops the graphic according to the
placeholder its in, however if this method is used and you have mutliple
graphics on one page..it automatically groups all graphics together as one,
therefore it is no longer individual graphics..additionally, you have to
select file/ Print/ crop to : letter, 11x17 etc..if you select none or in the
file/ print menu then it still prints distorted.

What seems a little confusing to me is why does 2003/xp only distort or
reformat some graphics and not all the autocad drawings in the doc? If anyone
else has found better solutions, please let me know..thx
