Autocad Trouble

When I try to insert a Autocad R-14 file, it seems to insert it fine, but if
I try to crop or resize it give me a file reference ignored & will not resize
or crop, any ideas?

Make sure you unlock the image in under Cad dawing properies, unlock view
extenst, size and position, and against deltion. You need to do this to
manuever the image in the drawing space and crop using cropping tool.
