When I enter email addresses in the To, CC and BCC fields I tend to enter
part of the name (rather than typing out entire names).
When I do this 2 things happen: autocomplete suggests some names in a
drop-down box, based on the first few letters I type. Since I usually use
surnames, and this feature seems to work by the first few letters in a name,
this is of limited value.
The problem is with the next feature: when I reject any of the suggestions
autocomplete offers, I am then left with a red wavy line under the name I've
typed. So far so good. But when I then right click the name I have noticed
I get all sorts of suggestions that seem to bear no relation to addresses I
have stored in my Address book at all.
Typically, it suggests old and long since deleted email addresses for a
given person, rather than the one I have stored, and fails to display the one
that is in the address book. I noticed today that when I changed an email
adress on someone's Contact tab, when I entered his name the drop down box
would only give me his old email address (which as far as I know is no longer
stored anywhere)
Can anyone explain to me what is going on there? Where is Outlook
harvesting these addresses from? Can I do anything to force it to only offer
me suggestions out of my current Outlook Address book?
Many thanks
