Autocomplete email addresses Outlook 2007

Does the autocomplete feture only work if I have previously entered an email
address the "long way" by clicking on the "To" button and selecting a contact
from the list? It seems that that is whats happening to me and wasn't sure
if thats the way it was supposed to work or not.

Yes. It's a dynamic list that adds addresses as you use them. You can type
the whole address without using the address book and it will add it to the
list. Also--You could start typing an address or name, click on Check Names
and OL will show you some possibilities. Add the Check Names button to your
email form toolbar if it's not already there.

Clarification: autocompletion will use only your previous recipients (no
matter how you entered the address). The "Check Names" feature
(autoresolution) will use your existing Contacts.
