Autocomplete for Addresses

I'm running Outlook 2003.

When I enter a name in the To: field of a message I would like it to
autocomplete, but can't find a "nickname" to fill in in the contacts
folder.

Like, Frank Jones has an address of (e-mail address removed), I would like to type
Frank and have the autocomplete finish the email address; Or even type
in FJones, and so on.

I have the autocomplete turned on.

Is there anything I can configure to get Outlook to do this?

That's not how autocomplete works. It uses a cache of names created from
messages you have sent, not your Contacts data.

You can use autoresolution (Automatic Name checking). If you enter part of a
name or a nickname then tab out of the field (or hit Alt-K [Check Names]),
Outlook will attempt to resolve the name against your address book. If it
can't it'll red underline it and you can right click on the name to manually
resolve it. Outlook will save the resolution for future use.

That works just fine. The Alt K fits the bill.

Your autocomplete, or nickname or NK2 or FAV file info.
is stored in a system file created by Outlook. There is
a utility that will let you open and edit this file. It
will even let you export that data to a CSV or TEXT
file. Once in that format, your autocomplete info. can
and probably should be imported into your contact folder.
