Autocorrect doesn't

Autocorrect in Entourage isn't working "right". The corrections that
came with MS Office seem to work correctly; e.g., (c) will give the
copyright symbol and "amke" will be corrected to "make". However, I
have a series of "\**" autocorrects that don't work in Entourage
although they work in Word; e.g "\mw" should autocorrect to "monitor
well" but just sits there as "\mw".

I have "replace text as you type" selected and the email format is
HTML. My current workaround is to type in Word and copy to Entourage,
but I don't think I should have to do that.

Suggestions?
