AutoCorrect functions

We are trying to figure out something in AutoCorrect.
Does Word and Access use the same file for
AutoCorrections? When we enter an entry in Access
AutoCorrect it will not show up in Word until you open
the AutoCorrect function and click OK to refresh. When
you enter in Word then open Access the AutoCorrect option
is there. Is there any way to refresh the list once the
programs that are open?
