Autocorrect in Word 2000/XP

J

Joe McLain

Hmmmm... Here's the situation: You're typing along and you want to start a
numbered list. You type the number, a period and start with your first
item. In your haste, you accidentally neglect to capitalize the first
letter of the item. Autocorrect won't fix it for you. Here's an example:

What I wanted:
1. Watermelon
2. Apple
3. Tangerine

What I typed (and ended up with):
1. watermelon
2. Apple
3. tangerine

Word 97 would autocorrect in this situation but neither Word 2000 nor Word
XP seem to have a clue. Is there anything that can be done? I support a
group of medical transcriptionists and they're about to revolt.

Help!

Thanks in advance -

Joe.

You have posted this to at least four NGs. I have answered it in one. Now
you have to figure out which one. If you had cross-posted instead of
multi-posting, you would see my answer in any of the NGs in which you
posted, and so would everyone else.
