Autocorrect inconsistency in different documents

As an instructor, I use autocorrect when I grade students' papers; that is,
by typing in a few letters to denote an issue or common phrase/sentence, this
saves me considerable time.

I've found on occasion that a student's paper somehow "disables" the
customized entries I put into my own Autocorrect. For example, when inserting
a comment re a correction, I use "incs" to change to "incomplete sentence".
However, in certain instances, this does not occur. I'm guessing that there
is some style tweak or setting that is disabling my customizations. I've
tried searching thru the MS knowledge base without success.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

John

AutoCorrect entries are language-dependent. If the student's paper has
another language applied, your AutoCorrect entries (except formatted ones)
will not be available. Before you start, Ctrl+A to select the entire
document and then go to Tools | Language | Set Language and apply the
appropriate language.

Hope that works for you--it's the only reason I can think of for AutoCorrect
not working.
