autocorrect not working with files created in word 2000

[quickquestion]

I created some files in word 2000 and am now editting them in word 2003. Some
of the files AUTOCORRECT properly and others do not. The autocorrect options
in both are the same. The only difference I see is that one of the files that
isn't working has English u.k. instead of English u.s., but I don't know how
to change that.

AutoCorrect is language-sensitive, unlike AutoText.

Language is very much like a formatting option except that it is found under
the tools menu. To change the language in an entire document select
everything (Ctrl-A) and go under Tools > Language...
In Word 2000 the option may be under the Spelling, not sure.

Also, I'm not sure if formatted AutoCorrect entries are language-sensitive.
They would be stored in normal.dot rather than in the particular language
file. You could try resaving your AC all as formatted entries and see. (Try
it with one first.) If this works for you, please report back so that others
will know.
