Autocorrect puts space in word

I used the symbol ` in autocorrect to insert 5 underscore in my document.
Sometimes it works fine but other times it looks like this ___ __. It puts a
space inbetween underscores. Anybody know the answer to this problem. Also
some other entries will not come up at all when I add them and then try to
use.

I'm not sure what goes wrong here... Perhaps it is caused by the fact that `
is a "dead" key, that is, you have to press SpaceBar after it to make it
appear in text? Have you tried using a different symbol (or combination of
symbols) for your AutoCorrect entry?
