Hi All,
I do much scientific writing and I have a rather extensive autocorrect
library that constantly adapts. Codes like <deg> or <mu> to insert
characters like ° and µ automatically, typing in NH42SO4 automatically puts
in the subscripts and parentheses necessary.
I've recently started working in Word 2003 (SP2) on a new computer and find
that when I open a document that was sent to me by someone else, my codes do
not work. This never used to be a problem on my old computer.
I've also found that if I copy most of the file (select all but the first
word or letter of the first line) and then paste it into a new document, then
things work ok and my new library works. <ctrl>+A to select all does not
work.
And, if I save the new file made with the above trick over top of the
original file that was missing the library, my new library is gone.
I think this has to do with the creator's normal.dot following the document
around somehow. Is there a way to override things so that whenever I open a
document I can keep my autocorrect library working and ignore theirs? It
would also be useful for when one wants to delete some of the default entries
that get in the way. Now they keep haunting me.
Thanks,
James
