Autocorrect zip format

D

Doug L

I am trying to get the auto correct import function to work. I have
downloaded and installed autocorrect.zip .
I have an Excel spreadsheet with the entries that I would like to import. I
have converted it into a txt file as well.
Neither of them will load, as I get a wrong format error message.
How should I format the spreadsheet?

Thanks

Doug

If you're referring to the autocorrect.zip that's available at
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/customization/exportautocorrectcontent.htm,
it requires a Word document containing a three-column table.

The best procedure at this point would be to use the Backup half of
the macro in the autocorrect.dot template to create a document in the
proper format. Delete all except the header row from the table.

Make sure your spreadsheet contains the name of each entry in column
A, the replacement text in column B, and either False or True in
column C to indicate whether the replacement should be formatted. Then
copy the columns from your spreadsheet and paste them into the Word
document, using Paste Special to paste as a Word table. Delete any
paragraph mark separating the header row from the rest of the table,
and save the document.

That document should serve as the input for the Restore portion of the
macro.
