First, AutoCorrect requires a space or "any punctuation mark" to trigger the
action. For example, you have an AutoCorrect named "alp" which will insert
Anne L. Pontillo. After typing alp, you can press the spacebar, a comma, a
period, etc. to trigger the action.
The other alternative is AutoText. Create an entry with the text "Anne L.
Pontillo" and save it as "alp" (select the text, choose Insert, AutoText,
AutoText). One caveat with AutoText: if the name has less than 4
characters, you can type the characters and press Alt+F3 (i.e., type "alp"
and press Alt+F3). If the name has 4 or more characters, and if those
characters are unique, after typing the 4th (or first unique character) the
user can press Enter or F3 to finish the entry. For example, you have an
AutoText named "Venue". Type "venu" and you will see a screen tip (in a
yellow box) appear. At that point, press Enter or F3 to expand the AutoText
entry. However, and here is the hook: if you have an AutoText named
"Venue - New York" and one named "Venue - DC", the screen tip will not
appear until you get to the character following the "- ". Therefore, be
careful in your naming conventions for AutoText entries.
Hope this helps.
