autocorrections in excell! Help!

Hi!!

Do you know how I can stop excell to make autocorrections? For instance,
when I type 1/4 or 1-4, it wil be changed to 4-Jan. The option Replace text
as you type under tools->auto correction options is clear!

Any suggestion is welcome

The column is probably formatted to "Date". Go to
Format/Cells and change it to "general" or whatever.
