AutoExpand Doesn't

I have several drop down list boxes on a form with auto expand set to yes
and limit to list set to yes. One of the list boxes does not auto expand.
This list box originally carried a number in the bound column, which did
autoexpand. The bound column was changed to a string and now it doesn't. Is
there a simple fix?
