Autofill Issues

Hi, any help gratefully recieved.

If I write a formula then fill down I get the same answer in every
cell. Typing in manually the excat same formula gives me the correct
answer.

The formulae are exactly the same whether filled or put in manually. Is
this a known glitch?

You should check, whether you activated automatic
calculation in "tools"-"options"-"calculation".
If it is set to manual, such effects appear as you
described

A formula such as =$B$1 filled down won't change (the $s make for an
"absolute", as opposed to "relative" reference). Whereas =B1 will adjust as
you fill down. In short, it's difficult to say where the problem is without
seeing the actual formula.
