Hello there.
Working with Time in Excel is always a confusing thing cause there are
so many options and styles and problems that can arise based on what
you are trying to do.
However, for some help with your time issue, you could try this....
(and sometimes, only a high level of Excel understanding will get you
past some problems, other wise, you will have to use manual changes to
get past some design issues. (in regards to being able to do this with
alternating rows))
As long as you are learning, here's something to fiddle with!
As far as I know, Excel converts anything to do with a date and time
to a time serial number. So, I do believe that the time serial number
for one minute is .000694 and about 100 more 4 at the end of that
value. But, I just tried to verify what I'm saying and if you enter
the value of .00069444 into a cell and then format the cell to change
it's number format to a time format (which is also how you would
change it from military time to standard time) you will or should see
00:01:00 which would be one minute after midnight.
Now, if you take this number (.00069444) and multiply it by the number
of minutes you want to transpire IE 30 minutes then your new time
value will be 00:30:00. And keep multiplying it by the number of
hours you want to get too. IE: .00069444 * 1200 = 8pm!
Anyhow, hope that helps and way to go on trying to learn this great
program, one of the best things I ever did for myself to help in my
professional career.

I'm trying to teach myself Excel XP (using "...for Dummies"). I used
Autofill to create a daily time schedule column, but in alternating cells
(e.g., 6:00 AM/[empty cell/6:30 AM/[empty cell]. Is this an Autocomplete or
Autofill function? Also, it uses military time. How do I get 12-hour time?
