autofilter large worksheet

I am using autofilter in a worksheet with 200,000 records
that are 50 columns wide. I use more than one filter. If
I select the filters from left to right my cpu usage goes
thru the roof. If I select the filters from right to left
cpu usage remains normal. What causes this? Do I just
have to live with it?

How many rows?????

You may want to turn off calculation (tools|options|calculation tab) while
you're applying the filters. Remember to turn it back on when you're ready.
