Autoformat maybe

C

Cherifree

I have turned off every option I can find for automatic things in Word 2002.
I use ShortHand, and also do lots of copy+paste from other documents. I
never add any hanging indents, and there are none in the documents that I
paste from, but about half the time, the paragraphs take on the hanging
indent. I have to select everything pasted, or inserted from ShortHand, and
turn off the hanging indent. Why is it doing this, and how do I stop it?

Two possibilities: use "Paste Special" instead of Paste, so you can choose
the format options you want before pasting. Or, use the drop-down box that
appears after you Paste to select the same options. If neither works, use
the Format Painter tool: click on a paragraph with the "right" formatting,
click the tool, then click on the paragraph you want to reformat.

I don't have a suggestion for your question but I do have a suggestion
on how to help you get an answer. You should post your question once
and to a single newsgroup. If you don't get a response in a week or so
then I'd say reposting in another newsgroup would be in order.

Those who answer questions in these groups do so voluntarily and when
a specific question starts to take on the appearance of spam it can be
passed over in order to help out someone who has been waiting
patiently. :)

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email can not be acknowledged.
