autoformat question

When I type a line, using the shift key, and then press
enter, the line becomes bold, and sometimes when I press
enter again, I get additional bold lines. I turned off
all the autoformatting options, and it continues to
occur. Has this happened to anyone else?

This sounds like the work of either automatic headings or "Define styles
based on your formatting."
