autokeys macro not functioning...

B

Brad Pears

We have an access 2000 application which uses an "autokeys" macro. One of
the function keys set up in this macro is the {f12} function key.

When this key is pressed the macro runs an "ApplyFilter" action and the
"where" condition is ...
"[General].[fname] Like "*" & [Enter Customer Name] & "*"

This causes a window to be displayed where the user can then enter a portion
of the customer name they would like to look up and when they press enter,
filter is set according to their entry as listed above.

This works fine for users of our windows 2000 terminal server (Access 2000
is installed on this machine). However, if the user happens to be logged on
to our Windows 2003 server (access 2000 also installed here) something quite
different happens. (also happens to some XP users - but not all of them!!!)

What happens is that the first time in the app, the user presses f12 and
they get the search window. However, if they press the f12 function key
again to find another customer, instead of the search window coming up, the
last record is simply redisplayed (noo search window displayed). For some
reason it is simply re-applying the original filter. It is NOT allowing the
user to specify another customer!

If the user backs out of this screen and comes back in, it will work again!

All users are running the EXACT same copy of the .mdb application so it must
have something to do with the particular access settings ???

Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this to happen to users on XP
and win2k3 sessions but not win2000??

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Brad
