Automate Microsoft Office Document Image Writer printing

We are trying to automate PDF -> TIF printing using the inbuilt MODI driver.
We have set the default settings to TIF (Fine 200 DPI) and the default
location is fine - however what we require is:

A script/batch to convert all files (most likely PDF, but there may be JPGs
etc) in a folder to TIF using the default settings and existing filenames.

I understand there are other commercial products out there and am happy to
pursue, but wanted to exhaust the MS-provided options first.
