Automate resource units?

I have resources working on 5-10 "tasks" at any one time. I would like to
be able to:

1.) Write a macro to adjust resource units automatically based on a multi
week plan. i.e. every task has a rough plan where the I can preload the
resource showing that they will work on any task 50% the first week, 30% in
weeks 2-4, 80% in weeks 5-7, and 10% in week 8 - as an example?

Thanks

Hi,

project 2000 is as good as any to do that.
Read the help on the Timescaledata method, you will find what you're after.

Thanks. I have looked around for information on the Timescaled method but
everything references exports to Excel. I need to import a work plan for
each resource for each task. I don't see much infom on the actual method.

I want to be able to take a resource (B Smith) and assign them to task A, B,
and C.
Those tasks do not start at the same time but can run in parallel. I need
to import a monthly profile that for each task (A,B,orC) the assigned
resource will work 50%, 30%, 30%, 20%, and 40% for the 5 months the task will
take to complete......

I could do it all by hand but it seems perfect for a macro...(VBA)

Hi,

Have you actually read the help (Object Browser) of the timescaledata
method? It doesn't even mention Excel, instead it gives you all the info you
need.
