Note: Out of the box thinking with this question.....
I have a Word document that I use as a 'template' to track and
document projects that i work on. It's not anything detailed; it's
more like a journal with a couple of inserted tables to track each of
the projects I work on. Some of the notes I keep will be hyperslinks
to other word docs or URL sites of that project.
Here's my situation: whenever a new project is assigned to me, I open
this 'template'. There are certain areas of the document that I
modify for that project - the project name, project number, etc. Some
of this information is the same information entered in multiple places
in the document. And some of this information could be hyperlinks.
But it is always the basic information I have to enter, which is where
my question leads to.
Does Word have a feature that I can create where I can enter this
common information for a new project, and that information the be
populated in the correct places in my 'template'? My thinking is some
sort of a box that would appear where I fill in the common
information, such as the project name and project number (and other
common information), hit enter, and this information be automatically
entered in the areas of the document that it should.
