Automated emails from Access

Hi,

In my database I have forms on which I can send automated emails by
clicking on a macro. This is fine when a particular bit on information
needs to be sent to another office member at a moment in time. What I
would like to do next is to have access send automatic emails to
individuals when something comes due within say a five day period (e.g.
when an instrument is due to be re-calibrated five days from today).
Can access generate these types of automatic emails without being
prompted by a user?
