Is there a way to set up bullets as having a 1/2 space (6
points) just before and just after as a default so that I
don't change it every time?
Best would be to define a STYLE that has exactly the
settings you want to use. Do this in the Normal.dot
template, so that it will be in all your new documents. You
can assign the style to a toolbar button
(Tools/Customize/Commands) so that you can use it just as
you've used the "Bullets" toolbar button.
When you do this, you should remember to apply a different
style to the paragraphs that do NOT require this formatting
(rather than just pressing ENTER twice to turn it off).
