Automatic alphabetizing of one-note pages?

Not in the current version. You can manually drag and drop the page tabs
into the desired order if you want. Tabe are normally stored in the order
in which they were created (just like pages in a paper notepad).

I thought if you deleted the .onetoc file, OneNote recreates it, and it
is alphabetized ?

I want to alphebetize the pages within the sections of OneNote automatically.
You said to delete .onetoc and it is alphabetized. What is alphabetized,
.... all the pages within all the sections???

I can't see which oooooooold thread you are referring to :-( :-(
Anyway, the reply you quote is totally wrong.

There is no feature for sorting of pages built-in.
But there is a PowerToy for sorting pages.
Sort Pages (2007)
http://www.onenotepowertoys.com/index.php?s=sortpages

And there is similar thing for sorting sections:
Sort Sections PowerToy (2007)
