Hi all,
Excel 2003, SP3
I have a user who reports that intermitently, and 'suddenly' - after the
workbook has been in use and open for some time, the default calculation
method for spreadsheets is changing from 'Automatic' to 'Manual'.
(Tools - Options - Calculation tab)
This is only noted when the spreadsheets stop working properly. By going to
this area and resetting the option from Manual back to Automatic, things
start working again.
However, I have no explanation on how the initial change from Automatic to
Manual is occuring in the first place?
There are macros (recorded keystrokes) in the main workbooks she uses,
advanced filtering, and many 'pastelinks' to up to 7 other sheets in the same
file, but the file itself is only approx 2MB in size.
Is anyone aware of a way that the user could be changing this function
herself without realising it (eg a CTL+? key etc), or perhaps a bug which
could do this.
TIA,
